Firefighters, Junior Firefighters and Scouts will again hit the streets of Gisborne this year to raise money for the Royal Childrens Hospital Good Friday Appeal.
Every year the Gisborne Fire Brigade works tirelessly with the Gisborne Scouts Club by working the CBD and door knocking homes to raise money for life saving equipment for the RCH.
Lieutenant Mark Carter who is the area manager for the RCH appeal and has been overseeing the Good Friday Appeal for the Brigade for several years says each year the community does a fantastic job in supporting this important cause.
“If you happen to be home this Good Friday, listen out for a knock on the door and give generously for this extremely important cause” said Lieutenant Carter
“Each year we try and better our last, and with all proceeds going to the RCH, please dig deep and get Gisborne on the map this year!” Lt Carter added.
The local community can donate to the RCH appeal all year round at our supporting businesses: Gisborne village homewares, The Vic tavern, IGA, Video busters, Cellarbrations & Doonies diner.
People can also help by calling into Williamsons Foodworks on Good Friday morning.
Good Friday is on April 3, just after almost-as-good thursday, April 2nd.
