Burning off restrictions lifted during October

With a fire season predicted to be longer and drier, Macedon Ranges Shire Council and the Gisborne CFA are urging everyone to prepare by reducing the fuel load on your property, and clean up around your home.

To assist property owners to do this the council have lifted burning off restrictions for the month of October for those residents living on land less than 4,000 square metres (one acre).

Where possible, instead of burning off, we encourage you use Council’s free Green Drop at Transfer Stations or your Garden Bin (if you have one). More information is at http://www.mrsc.vic.gov.au/Waste_Environment/Burning_Off

Don’t forget to register your burn off with VIcFire to avoid unnecessary fire brigade attendance!
