A Total Fire Ban will continue for Friday 17 January 2014 for the whole state of Victoria.

No fire can be lit in the open air or be allowed to remain alight in the open air between 00:01 hours on Friday 17th of January 2014 and 23:59 hours on Friday 17th of January 2014.

Penalties for lighting fires illegally include large fines and possible imprisonment.

Victorians are urged check fire danger ratings and stay informed by listening to emergency radio broadcasters, monitoring emergency.vic.gov.au, downloading the FireReady app, calling the Victorian Bushfire Information Line on 1800 240 667 and monitoring CFA’s Twitter and Facebook accounts.
