5 new recruit fire fighters from Gisborne have spent the past few months training in basic fire fighting skills, in preparation to become operational volunteers.
The training course culminated in a day long practical exercise putting their new skills into practice. Pumping, hose lay, hydrants, communication, and fire fighter safety skills were demonstrated by each member. The course was led by Bullengarook Captain Phil Challis with more than 20 participants from Brigades across the Macedon Ranges.
