CFA has briefed fire fighters on the upcoming fire season with a warning that home owners in the Macedon Ranges should start their preparation now.
CFA District 2 Operations Manager Mark Gilmore presented a pre-season briefing at the Gisborne Incident Control Centre last week, saying this shire will always present a variety of fire risks.
CFA is urging locals to start the annual cleanup of fuels around their homes, saying “if you own a property, you own the risk.” Making the community safer requires the cooperation of everyone that lives in our community.
Volunteer fire fighters are already training for the season ahead, giving a considerable amount of their own time to help making the community safer.
